Kevin began his professional career in public accounting with Coopers & Lybrand Certified Public Accountants, Detroit, Michigan office (now Price Waterhouse Coopers), and from there, spent the next 18 years building a private accounting practice specializing in accounting, taxation, and management consulting. His experience in private practice is quite extensive. He has represented clients throughout North America and Europe. Clientele includes companies (public/private, profit/nonprofit), individuals, estates and trusts, professional athletes, entertainers, law firms and many other licensed professionals. While he is no longer a shareholder in a financial company, he still works on a consulting basis for clients on special projects.
Kevin has an extensive background in real estate. His experience ranges from buying, selling, and managing residential (single family to multi-family) to commercial buildings. Kevin is slowly building a brand synonymous with the Carter signature in Detroit via his proven urban development projects.
In 2006, Kevin along with other investors organized a professional minor league basketball team called the Detroit Panthers. The Panthers begin play in the American Basketball Association (ABA) where they enjoyed a division championship season. The Panthers joined the Premier Basketball League (PBL), June 2008 where they played in the 2009 season. The Panthers drew record home game crowds during that season and as a result, many Panther basketball players were selected to play in the overseas basketball leagues. The Panthers finished below .500 that year and are currently inactive and are no longer a member of the PBL.
A native of Detroit, Kevin, was educated in the Detroit Public Schools until high school where he attended and graduated from Detroit East Catholic High School in 1984.
